Where to Find Funding for Your Nursing Education

Resources are not that hard to find.

When choosing a School of Nursing, many different factors come into play in the decision making process. Some questions include: where would I like to live, what size of school would I like to attend, and what can I afford to spend on my education. These questions are very important to choosing the right school and the right fit for you. The easiest way to start your search is to centralize it around where you want to live. Start on the local level, and then expand your radius from there. The main question that all students grapple with is the amount of money they have to spend their education. There are many ways to obtain funding for your Nursing Education but sometimes a little research on the topic will help.

Universities and Colleges around the country offer various financial packages that can help students afford their education. Nursing Schools are no different; there are financial packages to meet every student’s needs. There are scholarships, grants and loans, which are either set up by the University or by individual benefactors with specific requirements. Contact the Nursing Schools directly to ask for information on their programs.

Other means of obtaining funding for your Nursing Education include contacting Associations and Nursing Organizations. Many associations and organizations have funding opportunities specifically targeted toward nursing students. There are grants and scholarships for specific areas of studies as well as general nursing scholarships. Contact your school’s career center for more information on the various Nursing Organizations and Associations.

One additional idea for financial aid is to contact various Healthcare Agencies. These agencies offer scholarships, grants and loans to help you further your career. Often these agencies will offer a position with their agency if you do require assistance.

These opportunities are just a couple of many options for you to fund your Nursing Education. Just remember that every little bit counts so be sure to make as many contacts as you need to gain the funding for your education!
